Hair and Medication.
The way medication can show up on the hair is sometimes through falling or thinning of the hair. There are other less obvious affects like dull dry and sometimes even gray hair as is result of some medications.
Medication that has to do with hormones, may it be stress hormones sex hormones or other it will most likely show up on the hair as the hair is very connected to our hormones.
The Pill for example is a contraceptive that has to do with sex hormones and it is not so uncommon for hair to sometimes fall out or thin out. When this happen sometimes your Doctor may change the dose of the hormone in the pill and it may end the falling of the hair.
Sometimes thyroid medication actually helps hair to thicken as it may correct the thyroid function, any loss of hair do to the over activity or under activity of the thyroid will stop.
The best thing to do is to be aware of ones hair and any changes in thickness or quantity. If one feels the change its best to ask ourself the question of whats different and what has changed in the end no doctor or specialist should know more about ourselves than us. This is what can make the visit to a specialist a success.
